Safe Nest is currently seeking to fill the following positions:
Graveyard Advocate: Monday-Friday 12am-8am. Must have a strong work ethic and experience providing compassion based client services. Bachelor's degree required, survivors of domestic violence encouraged to apply. Duties Include: Crisis intervention & advocacy via 24-hour hotline & overnight assistance for domestic violence shelter residents. Salary $28,084 annually.
Bilingual Shelter Services Coordinator: Monday-Friday 12pm-8pm. Must be Bilingual in English and Spanish. Position is housed at confidential shelter. Duties Include: Phone screening and interviews to determine eligibility for Shelter, Intakes, and Prepare online applications for Emergency Temporary Protective Orders as needed, empowerment-focused case advocacy and other non-therapeutic advocacy and services coordination to survivors in shelter. Bachelor’s degree required, survivors of domestic violence encouraged to apply. Salary $28,884 during probation, $32,800 after successful probation.
3. Court Victim Advocate (CVA): provides trauma-informed advocacy with victims and survivors of domestic violence with partners facing prosecution for domestic battery. The Safe Nest CVA assists victims and survivors by providing the following confidential services: • Crisis intervention and comprehensive safety planning • An explanation of court process to help clients navigate challenging court procedures • Information about victim compensation and help with the application process for victim-centered services • Assistance to access other services including orders of protection, crisis hotline and shelter services
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, Gender or Women's Studies or related field and three years’ experience working directly w/victims and survivors of domestic violence and their children, or the equivalent.
Qualifications: Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills. Bilingual (English & Spanish) a plus. Prior work or volunteer experience in the area of sexual assault or domestic violence. Demonstrated commitment to social justice and the ability to work with diverse groups. Salary: $32,000 + benefits (dental, vision, health) including 403b employer contributed retirement, sick leave, vacation and monthly mental health day.
