FRAUD ALERT: SAFE NEST FRAUDULENTLY USED IN PHISHING SCAM
Thanks to a conscientious community member, Safe Nest was alerted to a phishing scam being perpetrated in its name. The scam involves an email which directs the recipient to click on a link and complete a form in order for the recipient to contact a participant in a Safe Nest program. Safe Nest will never contact anyone regarding someone participating in any of its programs.
“This is very disturbing on many levels,” said Lisa Lynn Chapman, JD, Safe Nest’s director of community relations. “Our entire program is based on confidentiality. Safe Nest does not release the names of our clients nor do we solicit personal information from anyone related to our clients.”
Safe Nest was not hacked and no client information was compromised. This phishing scam targets the recipient’s personal information. The email is sent from firstname.lastname@example.org. This email is not affiliated to Safe Nest in any way.
