Safe Nest and No Harm Done are collaborating to raise funds to help victims of domestic violence and their children in the Southern Nevada area through the development and sale of exclusive music CD and concert. The album is slated to be completed and on sale in September 2013 and the concert is scheduled for October 19, 2013 at Aliante Hotel and Casino.
“We are very excited about this collaboration with No Harm Done” stated Lisa Lynn Chapman, Safe Nest’s director of community relations. “Nevada historically has high domestic violence homicide and victimization rates. This project will raise awareness about domestic violence and available services to a demographic that we don’t normally reach.”
Founded by musician Jefferson Montoya, No Harm Done is an exciting project that uses music to raise funds for non-profits helping victims of domestic violence. Each No Harm Done Event has three components: the compilation album of original music by local artists; sales of 3,000 compilation CDs for $10 of which all funds raised will benefit Safe Nest; and the concert.
“I am happy to be working with Safe Nest to raise awareness and funds to help victims of domestic violence in Las Vegas,” said Montoya. “Music can be such a powerful force to that end."
No Harm Done has selected artists from genres ranging from Pop to Punk for the Las Vegas CD. The artists include: Sarah Theile, Heavy Honey, Rush and Roulette, Megan Barker; Pet Tiger, Stevenson Brooks, Nathan Henry, The All-Togethers, Hope’s Edge, Sarah Patterson, Marissa Johnson, Jeff Mix, Viridian, Dirty Panties, and Love Hate Away. Each No Harm Done artist is donating one original song to the project.
